Logging your premium feed into your podcast app.

You conquered the known world. You can manage a podcast app. You signed up, you got the welcome email, and now the URL won't take. Happens to everyone. Two minutes from here to listening.

The one thing

Copy the feed URL — don't click it.

COPY the feed URL we sent you. Don't click it. Clicking the link in the email just opens it in your browser, which is useless. You need to copy it as text and paste it into your podcast app. Long-press the link on mobile, or right-click on desktop, and choose Copy link.

Three apps that work

Pick yours. Follow the steps.

iPhone / iPad

Apple Podcasts

  1. Open the Podcasts app and tap Library.
  2. Tap the three dots (…) top right, then Follow a Show by URL.
  3. Paste your feed URL from above.
  4. When asked, enter the username and password from your welcome email.
Mac / Windows

Apple Podcasts (Desktop)

  1. Open the Podcasts app on your Mac or PC.
  2. Click the File menu in the top bar.
  3. Click Follow a Show by URL…
  4. Paste your feed URL, then click OK and enter your username and password.
Android

Podcast Addict

  1. Install Podcast Addict from the Play Store (free).
  2. Tap the + button, then RSS Feed.
  3. Paste the feed URL with your credentials embedded:
    https://USERNAME:PASSWORD@alexanderthegreat.life/feed/hetairoi-monthly (replace USERNAME and PASSWORD with the ones from your welcome email; swap the slug for your tier).
  4. Tap Add.
Any other app

Everything else

Most podcast apps support premium feeds — they just hide the option in different places. The full set of instructions, including each app's quirks, lives on the TPN central page.

Heads up: Spotify and Google Podcasts don't support premium RSS feeds at all, and Pocket Casts removed the feature in 2023. Use one of the apps above. Tip: if an app complains, try changing https:// to http://.

Self-medicate first

Before you shoot us a support email…

"Hey, I didn't get the email telling me how to get the feed onto my phone!"

Check your spam folder. If all else fails, keep reading.

"I've got a new phone and deleted the instruction email you originally sent me!"

"Your instructions don't work! My 12-year-old tech-genius nephew says they're shit!"
