This is a CRAZY story!

The people from an island fortress off the coast of Syria / Lebanon refuse to let Alexander sacrifice to their god Melqart aka Heracles – so he lays siege to it. Six months later, tens of thousands of Tyrians are dead and / or sold into slavery. During the siege, Alexander is forced to invent brand new forms of siege warfare and the Tyrians invent the ship bomb.

Life Of Alexander The Great #24 – The Lamentation Of Their Women

The aftermath of the Battle of Issus. Alexander deals with Darius’ wife, mother and children, forging a lifelong relationship with Sysigambis (the mother). Letters are exchanged between Darius and Alexander which don’t go well. And Alexander reacquaints himself with someone from his childhood, the first woman he sleeps with – Barsine, former wife of Memnon of Rhodes.

It’s late 333 BCE. Alexander faces Darius on the battlefield for the first time! He’s outnumbered – 3 to 1 or even 11 to 1, depending on which source you believe. What does he do? He stands firm and fights, because he is Alexander. If you’ve ever wondered why he deserves the epithet “The Great”, this is where you find out. In fact, we don’t think that does him justice. From now on, he will be know as “Alexander the Motherfucker”.
